the photo's a bit blur coz i got my sis to take it since i didn't bring my phone with me. photo taken at singapore expo some Popular sale at hall 4 -.- got scammed by my parents there, tricked me out to have dinner, then dragged me along to the sale and after that to the Robinsons' sale at hall 7... literally wasted 3 hours =(

hey everyone! i havent been posting much lately so i shall make up for it with a nice post =) (i hope)
nothing much has been happening in sch lately, except for the fact that we keep clinching champions here and there and everywhere. but then, today marks a new beginning! ELDDFS kindly declared a 4-week holiday for us after they were awarded gold with honours for their performance leh! so good la!
see? sch life is not that horrible afterall. ppl are kind, sch is enjoyable. look at this, everyone is treating hwachong as their 2nd home!
and u know, the declaration of the 4-week holiday was quite a tonic for us. everyone was bearing that in mind, especially during that LAST lecture of the term!! perhaps that's why nobody slept. look how enjoyable the physics lecture was!
shiok rite! didn't know lectures could be so blissful and comfortable. and then hor, there were cute posters drawn to commemorate this fateful day which marks the start of this historical 4-week holidays! see this!

tsk tsk tsk. see he's so hyped up! jumpstarters are ready to jumpstart everywhere, so that probably explains why brandon (i prefer to spell it this way) kindly stayed back in sch today to represent our class at the very HIGH folding love CIP meeting. see? our role model leh! i must convince u all that CIP is very meaningful, especially folding love. firstly, brandon's in it. secondly, brandon's in charge of it. thirdly, brandon wants us to go for it. like omg la, these 3 reasons alone are enough to make anyone go do CIP liao can. guess i dunnid elaborate more =) but seriously, get starting with ur folding love!
and by the way, it has onli been 4 hrs since the start of holidays and i'm already missing the class? so we shall hav a class outing, i think it's this sunday, venue and time not confirmed yet. dunno what we'll be doing too. yichan says her inspiration will come realli soon. =)
maybe we can all go folding love tmr morning instead er, er, yichan jiayou! class outing soon!

When she is in the slower mode, she can be creative, remember longer and stack facts in a logical manner. She is more logical this way and can climb mental mountains with a much better grip.
Valerie's true self-image is unreasonably low. Someone once told Valerie that she wasn't a great and beautiful person, and she believed them. Valerie also has a fear that she might fail if she takes large risks. Therefore she resists setting her goals too high, risking failure. She doesn't have the internal confidence that frees her to take risks and chance failure. Valerie is capable of accomplishing much more than she is presently achieving. All this relates to her self-esteem.
Valerie's self-concept is artificially low. Valerie will stay in a bad situation much too long... why? Because she is afraid that if she makes a change, it might get worse. It is hard for Valerie to plan too far into the future. She kind of takes things on a day to day basis. She may tell you her dreams but she is living in today, with a fear of making a change. No matter how loud she speaks, look at her actions. This is perhaps the biggest single barrier to happiness people not believing in and loving themselves. Valerie is an example of someone living with a low self-image, because their innate self-confidence was broken.
Valerie is very self-sufficient. She is trying not to need anyone. She is capable of making it on her own. She probably wants and enjoys people, but she doesn't "need" them. She can be a loner.
For a graphologist, the spacing on the page reflects the writer's attitude toward their own world and relationship to things in his or her own space. At 4pm, it was like 6, den i refresh,3 den 1 den 0.... in less than a minute.

brandon's super funny nowadays. here's one funny convo we had while going for econs lecture:
brandon: there's one good thing (about being called brandon). later kelvin tan ask me qns, i can dao him, coz i'm not junkang.
sijie: oh great! then we can introduce to him our new class member brandon!
brandon: *zzz* (gives his favourite diao look again)
and then at econs lecture, brandon having the first 3 letters of his name same as "brave", bravely sat at the suicidal seat nearest to dr. siva. yew wei decided that he ought to stay away from siva for one lecture, so as to NOT answer any question he poses. however, dr siva imba-ly skipped brandon and asked yew wei YET AGAIN!!
we speculate that this is due to the Brandon Repulsion Aura
(BRA) which brought yew wei to his downfall. ppl surrounding brandon, like shaoying, all suffered under the evil clutches of dr siva's SHOVED MIKE. brandon remains the only person to have survived it while sitting at the hot seats in front.

junkangbrandon can stand very still for quite a long time one, so ya, in the lift, he stood like some very stone statue. =P then, his height made it so that his face was directly beside a notice board in the lift la. so i was looking at him, then at the board, then this end product idea sprung to my mind:

I’ve only now manage to gather the random thoughts scribbled on my notepad into a coherent message for the class. Thanks Valerie for the pics (:
Thank you all for giving me such a beautiful send-off, complete with a sing-song no less!
I really appreciate the thought and effort in organizing thi s, and so many of you coming to say goodbye... It was something so authentic and from the heart, and I never expected my HCI experience to end with something as beautiful as Wednesday night.
It took some time for us to know each other, but I know S6E is a class with depth. How apt that the card you gave required me to physically open up every individual heart to read the personal messages, and that each one was a different shape and colour – Just as every one of us is different, as long as our heart is good, we will find joy in our lives and others. Metaphorically, in the last 4 months, we have also opened our hearts to each other, as the class grew closer.
I hope all of you will savour every experience of love and pain at HCI, because they will mould you. No matter how broken or scarred your heart may become, remember to stay true to yourself, and your heart will be full.
It breaks my heart to have to leave you now, but then, I wouldn’t be honest if I told you to have courage,and remained myself stuck to the straight and narrow.

It is obvious that without computers we would find our life extremely difficult, maybe even impossible. If they disappeared for just one day, would we be able to cope?
Be part of one of the biggest global experiments ever to take place on the Internet. The idea behind Shutdown Day is to find out how many people can go without a computer for one whole day, and what will happen if we all participate!
MissionShutdown Day is a non-profit organization registered in the province of Quebec, Canada. Shutdown Day was founded with the sole purpose of spreading awareness about the pitfalls and dangers that lie in the excessive use of television, computers, and computing equipment like game boxes, cell phones, music players, online social websites, etc. that impinge on social space and interaction amongst our communities. Shutdown Day also aims to partner with other like-minded organizations in promoting sustainable development, especially in the area of social behavior relating to the effects modern technology.
Shutdown Day is a Global Internet Experiment whose purpose is to get people to think about how their lives have changed with the increasing use of the home computer, and whether or not any good things are being lost because of this. The idea of Shutdown Day project is simple - just shutdown your computer for one whole day of the year and involve yourself in some other activities: outdoors, nature, sports, fun stuff with friends and family - whatever, just to remind yourself that there still exists a world outside your monitor screen.
HistoryShutdown Day started off in early 2007, when Denis Bystrov, a computer programmer living in Montreal, Canada, realized that he spends too much time with his computer and wants one day to spend entirely with his family. Denis then teamed up with his friends Michael Taylor, a former trade floor occupant in stock markets in London, England and David Bridle, a part time film maker from Cardiff, Wales, to throw up a challenge on the Internet, through the website, called shutdownday.org The idea was simple: "Do you think you can stay away from your computers for at least 24 hours a day, and if yes, can you pledge to do so?" What began as an innocent question, fire-balled into a mammoth Internet chain reaction, drawing millions of viewers from across the world. Here is a summary of the results from the Shutdown Day 2007 campaign:
The Shutdown Day website received more than 1.6 million visitors in the one month of the campaign.
More than 65,000 people participated in the campaign by actually shutting down their computers for 24 hours on the 24th of March, 2007.
Shutdown Day promotional clip was broadcast on YouTube and received more than 1.1 million hits.
450,000 visitors signed up for country locator on Shutdown Day website.
The idea of Shutdown Day featured on more than 200,000 online forums discussions, and also in television interviews, and popular media, including Globe and Mail, CNN, Fox News and TV5. Later in 2007, as Denis was discussing the future of Shutdown Day with another friend, Ashutosh Rajekar, also a career software developer and first hand victim of excessive use of computer technology, he realized that both had some interesting ideas to share regarding the future direction of Shutdown Day. Eventually, both Denis and Ashutosh decided to team up to register as a non-profit organization in the province of Quebec. Now Denis and Ashutosh, assisted by a few close fiends and
hundreds of volunteers from different countries, aim to make the Shutdown Day project a success, and help people realize that outside computer screen there is indeed a beautiful world to be enjoyed.

hey everyone! sijie here! i'm here to introduce to everyone a new class member!
he's called BRANDON LIN JUNKANG!
eh doesn't that sound and look like the jumpstarter? oh yea it is! wonder why he's now called Brandon? valerie knows the full story already, coz we were at junkang's house like 1 hr before the rest reached =)
so aniwae, back to the story, we went up to
junkang brandon's house to help him take food and stuff, and shun bian tour his house a bit =P then we decided to order the pizzas after calling zhiyang to check attendance and here is how it began =)

brandon (to the canadian pizza salesperson): hello? i would like to order pizza. *says address* 4 pizzas, 3 hawaiian and 1 dunno-wad. erm... BRANDON. ya ok thank you bye bye.
erm yea that's what happened =) valerie and i were like wondering whether we heard the correct thing or not coz "brandon" distinctly came out of brandon's mouth. so after mass interrogation, brandon said that brandon is an easier name to use and for ppl to remember when ordering pizzas and things like that. so yea, we were laughing about it all the way from his house until we reached the function room where we stoned damn long before the rest of u guys turned up.
you might be asking why choose "brandon"? so random rite! coz it rhymes with "random" lor! haha! so lame lol -.-
and according to
junkangbrandon, his younger brother uses it too when ordering pizzas and stuff like that. damn funny la! imagine his cute youngest brother growing up and calling himself brandon too! lol!

love to all the people who went for the outing yesterday!
i'll most likely try to organise more moremore random outings with miss ong (provided i can get her ) so you guys be prepared! (:
just wanted to say thank you to all of you who came and supported the class and participated in our scams (aka the potato game AGAIN, sorry we ran out of ideas to scam people) and to yuwei and yewwei for sacrificing their hands to carry miss ong -.-( whom i think enjoyed it hahahah)
i'm sure we had fun talking about loads of uh disgusting things, playing cards and eating BUT we also have to thank JUNKANG! for lending us his place and buying all the things and to his mom for cooking the beehoon and all the blah food! (:
lastly i hope that this outing helped to create some thing for our class to talk about. haha thats all. jiayou for all the upcoming tests! i'll continue organising stuff and i'll not lose faith with the class! :D (that was random!) so you guys better support me hor!!!
ps oh and i think the part where we sang the song for miss ong? even i was touched! hahah <3!
